I'm loving
Susannah Conway's photographs. So dreamy and peaceful. Her photos remind me of sunny summer British countryside, make me feel homesick.

London Fashion Week Update
Once againa Christopher Bailey behind the lovely
Burberry Porsum has astounded me. Sorry for the excess of photos but I couldn't help myself. To quote Rachel Zoe: I just die!!! I know most people think
Burberry is really naff but I can't get over the amazing construction. I am also making a trench coat at the moment, inspired by ancient Scottish Celtic culture, so Burberry's signature trenches are inspiring.
I also liked
Luella's show but Twenty8Twelve disappointed me.

Dust Storm
Sydney Harbour Bridge
Sydney Harbour
Sydney received a dust storm today, swept all the way from South Australia. As my english teacher says: everything leaves South Australia eventually :P
I missed the strong bright orange sunrise, but it was still pretty orange the rest of the day until lunch. I loved how some of my friends throught it was judgement day or the world was ending, when they first saw the sky :)

Piggy Paint
Ever wondered what exactly makes nail polish smell so horrible. The answer: toxic chemicals. But if your daughters enjoy playing with this colourful substance, don't fret. There is a lovely alternative.
Piggy Paint is designed for little girls who enjoy playing with makeup. Their products contain no harsh chemicals but instead a lot of natural products. I might buy some just because it sounds and looks so nice :)

Hope you're having a nice weekend :)
COFA Spring Fair
Today I went to the
COFA Spring Fair and Open Day. I expected it to be much better than Sydney University's Open Day and it was. The college seemed smaller and it less equipment than Sydney, but it was much better organised. The information on degrees and courses was also simpler to understand. So COFA really intrigues me in terms of future education. However I still have to research more....

New York Fashion Week
When I think Fashion Week I usually wince. Why? Because I don't think of Fashion Week as a Eco promotion opportunity. It's more like a Heavy Rock concert mosh pit filled with selfish shallow stick figures weighing less that 30kg and that have a tiny brain and conscience to match their body. BUT! Eco fashion is catching on and New York is following in Paris' footsteps and displaying two Ethical Fashion events. The first is the Ethical Fashion show, complemented by an exhibition of photographs of a selection of ethical brands by French photographer Lionel Astruc. The second event is a preview of ethical fashion to come.
Will it be better than London Fashion week's Esthetica??
For more info on
New York Fashion Week go to
Green My Style. They always explain everything much better than I do.

Friendly Fires
It's official. I'm in love with
Friendly Fires. This British pop band is the coolest thing since ear-muffs and you must check them out :)

(above: aren't they the cutest)
Fashion Geek
Today in Dymocks, I came across an awesome book called
Fashion Geek: Clothes Accessories Tech by Diana Eng. It tells you how to create cute fashionable accessories and clothes that incorporate a bit of technology. It is the perfect gift for a creative friend of mine.

Estethica
Today I went onto greenmystyle.com as per usual and i came across a lovely article on London Fashion Week.
EstETHICa, fashion week's eco fashion zone, is so unbelievably awesome and led me to all these other links which led me further until i got so overwhelmed (in a good way) that i wanted to scream. People don't think there's that much eco/fair trade/organic clothing out there...oh how wrong they are.

Peppermint
To start this blog off on a lovely start, I would like to tell you all about this magazine i discovered today in Borders. I am a huge fan of Frankie Magazine so when I saw an indie looking magazine where Frankie is usually found, i picked it up. To my delight it was not Frankie (i still love you Frankie) but Peppermint, Australia’s first eco fashion magazine!!!
At a price of $10.95 it’s not the cheapest magazine in the world, but it is certainly one of the best. From a completely natural photo on the cover, to 35c of the issue going to Friends of The Earth and to beautiful articles about recycling, this magazine is sure to be a hit and hopefully change some minds of Australians out there.
From this issue which I picked up (issue 3), I can now say that I love
Obelia Designs, these little booties from
Infusion and these
1920s inspired hats (yes I’m in an Agatha Christie story now.)
