On Saturday I went to the
Walk Against Warming event in Sydney. It was a walk from Martin's Place to the Bontanic Gardens and there were 15,000 people there helping to raise awareness about climate change and tell the Australian government (particularly Kevin Rudd) that we want clean energy and we want a binding treaty to come out of Copenhagen.
The was a walk taking place in every capital city in Australia and I think Melbourne had 50,000 people show up which was fantastic. We all made lots of noise and there were photographers and news crews constantly filming us. Martin's Place was a great starting point but I think it could have been better if we'd finished at the Opera house steps.
The first photo shows blue laces that say "walking for the climate". They make my shoes look great :)
NB: The title of the post was a saying that many people were chanting at the rally. Catchy
