1.
Ascension has a
brand new store off Oxford St in London. The online store is great but you can't try anything on and you also don't get that nice feeling of being waited on by the store assistants. This new store is airy and a refreshing change from the rest of the shops on the high street. There is a green book section, ceramic butterfly decorations and racks of the eco and fair trade brands found on the online site. The
store launch was a big success and hopefully the shop gets a lot of business. I can't wait to see it next time I'm in London!
2. This adorable
Bibico tunic dress is on my Christmas wish list. It is fairly traded (made in India)
3. This cute crochet
Miffy doll made by women in a community in Asia. This doll ensures these women generate an income, benefiting the rest of the community. I love the dress!
5. These ipod cases made from sustainably sourced wood and reduce 80% of what could have been plastic. I think they're pretty awesome and they're much more attractive than the hideous, mass marketed plastic ones.
6.
Holland and Barret is the first major retailer to completely ban plastic bags. I think this is wonderful!! Hopefully Australia jumps on the bandwagon. Instead of plastic, they are selling natural fibre bags that feature a picture of a rare species of butterfly that is coming out of endangerment.
7. Katy Perry's sushi nails. Nuff said :)
